Abstract
Poster Exhibition only
1. Breast cancer surgical oncology has evolved from radical, disfiguring procedures to refined patient-centric approaches that balance tumor eradication with preservation of function and aesthetics. 2. Modern surgery embodies a holistic, multidisciplinary strategy, integrating precision medicine and reconstruction to enhance both survival and post-treatment quality of life
Clinical case: A 43-year-old premenopausal female (Mrs. R.K.)with BMI 22 presented with a painless lump in upper outer quadrant of left breast, persisting for 2 months.Family history was significant for breast cancer in her mother at age 51.No history of trauma, weight loss, or nipple discharge. →Clinical breast examinstion revaled a firm, mobile,non-tender mass. No skin changes or palpable axillary nodes. →Mammogram showed a Bl-RADS 5 lesion →Core needle biopsy confirmed invasive ductal carcinoma: Grade ll. →Immunohistochemisty: ER+, PR+, HER2- →MRI breast: 2.3 cm lesion, no lymphadenophity. →Axillary ultrasound showed no lymphadenopthy: →SLN imaging negative. →Intraoperative frozen section confirmed clear margins and SLN negativity →Post-operative recovery was uneventul. She received adjuvant radiotherapy and hormonal therapy →One-year follow-up showed she remained disease-free with excellent cosmetic outcome and high
Diagnosis: Invasive Ductal carcinoma Grade II
Advancements in breast surgical oncology have unequivocally transformed oncologic paradigms-superseding radicalism with precision, personalization, and preservation. Our patient-centered, technique-driven model has led to a tangible reduction in postoperative morbidity by 42% and a 60 % increase in aesthetic satisfaction among early-stage breast cancer patients (2023 JCO review). The integration of oncoplastic methodologies and sentinel lymph node navigation not only augments disease control but also fortifies psychosocial rehabilitation and long-term survivorship.
