Introduction *
Haemorrhoid are defined by an abnormal enlargement of the blood vessels located in the anal canal. Generally, individuals may experience bleeding, itching, or pain due to these conditions. Several surgical procedures used for the treatment of hemorrhoids. Traditional excision or Milligan Morgan haemorrhoidectomy (MMHD), stapled haemorrhoidectomy, rubber band ligation (RBL), modified ligation procedure for prolapsed haemorrhoidectomy (MLPPH), laser haemorrhoidoplasty (LH), hemorrhoidal artery ligation (HAL), Doppler-guided hemorrhoidal artery ligation (DG-HAL) etc. However, none of the above procedures has complete superiority over the others in terms of curing all outcome complications.
Material & Method *
This Study was done in diagnosed patients of haemorrhoids to find a suitable minimally invasive alternative for management of symptomatic haemorrhoids in comparison to traditional haemorrhoidectomy by comparing reduction of symptoms i.e. HSS after DG HAL (Group A) vs Laser Haemorrhoidoplasty(Group 2) in symptomatic hemorrhoids.
Results *
The mean haemorrhoid grade in group A group B in pre-op was 2.276 ± 0.8408 and 2.179 ± 0.9449 and post of period was1.207 ± 0.7260 and 1.250 ± 0.9280 respectively with no significant difference observed between both groups, as indicated by a p-value of 0.8313
Conclusion *
In summary, the discussion confirms that both DGHAL and LH offer reliable alternatives to conventional haemorrhoidectomy with comparable clinical benefits. While neither procedure is free from minor complications, both are associated with favourable outcomes and minimal invasiveness, making them suitable choices in modern surgical practice. Future studies with longer follow-up periods are needed to determine long-term recurrence and outcomes.
