Abstract
Oral only
We focus specifically on the mechanisms by which pancreatic inflammation affects pancreatic cancer
The Catanzaro University group in close collaboration with multidisciplinary team consisting of oncology anatomopathologists and pathologists a proposed since 2014 a unique line of research based on the interaction between Polymorphonucleates (tryptase-positive mast cells and macrophages) and cellular elements that populate the tumor microenvironment. This allowed us to highlight the expression of a specific molecule that is ki 67 expressed in patients with gastric cancer and pancreatic cancer.
The results showed that in the slides in the pancreatic adenocarcinoma sections examined, there was a higher proportion of tryptase-positive mast cells than in the healthy tissue adjacent to the neoplasm
All the studies we have done have highlighted a peculiar molecular substrate demonstrating what the biological process underlying the disease may be, for the creation of new therapeutic strategies, for precision medicine. A potentially cutting-edge option in new therapeutic approaches for pancreatic cancer and the messenger RNA-based vaccine, which could offer technical and conceptual advances in personalized and precision treatment in pancreatic cancer care
