Abstract
Oral or Poster
Hydatidosis is an endemic pathology in the area, with 85 to 90 % of cases corresponding to lier disease. Surgery remains the method of choice for cysts larger than 5 cm. The laparoscopic experiencie in an endemic health center is analyzed.
A retrospective study was conducted in a health center in an endemic area of hydatid disease, analyzing 532 patients with hydatid disease between 2010 and 2024. Only patients with lier were studied by ultrasound and CT sacn. Sex,age and surgical technique were analyzed.
A total of 532 patients with hepatic hydatid disease were analyzed, 75 % had a single cyst and the remaining 25 % had multiple cysts. Of the 532 patients, 461 were resoled by laparoscopic surgery.
Laparoscopic surgery for hepatic hydatid disease proved to be a very safe method , with a shorter hospital stay and improved uotcomes, as long as it is done in a specialized center
